The house-sharing firm Airbnb says it is reached a deal to start accumulating and remitting lodge taxes to Oklahoma Metropolis.
The corporate says it is going to begin accumulating the 5.5 % metropolis lodge tax on all eligible bookings beginning Sept. 1. Airbnb says the corporate beforehand reached a separate settlement with Oklahoma to start accumulating the state’s four.5 % state gross sales tax, which started July 1.
Airbnb says it has comparable agreements with 310 authorities entities globally.
Oklahoma Metropolis Mayor Mick Cornett says the lodge tax proceeds are used to draw tourism and conventions to the town, in addition to paying for enhancements to State Truthful Park.
