KYUK-AM stories ( ) the Alaska Village Electrical Cooperative came upon on Friday it will be unable to construct the turbine off Bethel’s BIA street.

The Federal Aviation Administration said the 350-foot (107-meter) turbine was denied as a result of “navigational air area circumstances.”

The cooperative is in search of a brand new area and states the search might final a couple of months.

The turbine would have produced about 6 % of the annual electrical energy demand for Bethel, Napakiak, and Oscarville. That demand will improve when the Yukon-Kuskokwim Well being Company enlargement venture is accomplished.
