Brendan Kelly gets backing from Quad Cities congresswoman

St. Clair County State’s Lawyer Brendan Kelly, who’s operating for Congress within the twelfth District, has acquired his first endorsement from an elected federal official.

U.S. Rep. Cheri Bustos, D-East Moline, this week put her help behind Kelly, who’s operating for the Democratic nomination, with the hopes of taking over U.S. Rep. Mike Bost, R-Murphysboro within the November 2018 election.

The first election is in March.

“Brendan Kelly is the kind of fighter that Southern Illinois wants in Congress, and that’s why I’m proud to endorse him,” Bustos stated in a information launch. “As a younger man, Brendan signed as much as serve our nation in uniform — and at this time, he’s persevering with that service as state’s lawyer preventing for his group. Brendan is aware of that hardworking households in Southern Illinois deserve higher jobs, higher wages and a greater future, and he’s precisely the champion they deserve in Congress.”

Bustos on Wednesday is also scheduled to be at a fundraiser for Kelly in Springfield.
