Forecasters say Gert has strengthened to grow to be the second hurricane of the season within the Atlantic Ocean.
The Nationwide Hurricane Middle says Gert was about 445 miles (720 kilometers) west of Bermuda late Monday and had most sustained winds of seventy five mph (one hundred twenty kph). The storm was shifting north at eight mph (thirteen kph).
