Los Alamos school board eyes policy on immigrant students

The Los Alamos Public Faculties board is considering a policy aimed toward defending immigrant students amid fears of increased federal enforcement.

The Los Alamos Monitor studies board members are scheduled Thursday to discuss a proposal that spells out how faculty employees ought to react if federal immigration brokers come on campus and not using a warrant.

Underneath the proposal, employees is to inform the superintendent and never give brokers any info on the students’ whereabouts.

A separate decision calls for college staff to not hold any data displaying that info after admission.
