Missouri Treasurer Eric Schmitt says he is backing fellow Republican Lawyer Common Josh Hawley to run for Democratic U.S. Sen. Claire McCaskill’s seat.
Schmitt had expressed curiosity in a U.S. Senate run, however on Tuesday introduced he will not search the Republican nomination. He had not taken any official steps to enter.
